Until futher notice, the adoption donation portion on a kitten or adult cat is $10.00 instead of the recommended $20.00 donation.   All other fees apply.

If you choose a black cat or kitten, the adoption donation is only $5.00.  All other fees apply.  Research shows that mostly black mixed breed cats and dogs tend to languish much longer than their pure bred and other-patterned peers.

There are many adult cats and even more litters of kittens surrendered daily during the summer months.  Shelters in this area are open admissions shelters that commit to turning no unwanted or stray animal away.  This means that when all shelter cages and foster homes are full, cats will be euthanized to follow through on the commitment to turn no unwanted cats and kittens away.

No kill or limited access organizations in this area operate with foster homes and cooperate with some pet stores such as Petco and PetSmart to offer kittens and cats for adoption.  When their pet store cages and foster homes fill, homeless and unwanted cats and kittens go on waiting lists until a spot is free.  While we work with no kill rescue groups to pull cats and kittens in an effort to avoid euthanasia, at the times that we need them to pull, they are typically full as well.  No kill groups will also typically only pull kittens, long-haired cats, and pure bred cats because adult domestic short-haired cats can remain in foster care for months or a year or more as most adopters choose kittens and there are thousands of adult cats in this area to choose from.

If you can meet the ongoing needs of two cats, please visit, adopt, and have a role in preventing the euthanasia of healthy cats when space runs out in all area shelters and rescue groups.

If your cat(s) are currently "having accidents," we do not recommend the addition of new cats to your home.  Elimination outside of the litterpan, once a medical foundation is ruled out, it likely a communication tool rooted in stress.  The animal may be attempting to define and mark their territory or refusing to empty in a full litter pan.  Adding more household members in such a situation will increase this stress level and could lead to similar behavior in new pets as the smells in the flooring can trigger a dominant cat to mark over that scent or communicate that it is okay to eliminate there.
