I am a one year old poodle.  I am not appropriate for an inexperienced owner since it is reported that I like to dig under fences and try to run away.

I will place to an adopter who lives within our 50 mile radius.

I am now posted because I was still available at the end of the adoption day on Friday, July 30, 2010 when the daily update was done.  Barring an unforeseen circumstance like illness or owner reclaim, I should be available at the start of next adoption hours on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.

You are encouraged to visit at the start of adoption hours following my post to the internet.  Check the "Last update" time on the menu to the left of my description on www.whspets.org to determine when I was posted as available.  Each update shows all available animals and we have daily volunteer coverage for updates (barring unforeseen illnesses or issues).

You are discouraged from calling or emailing during adoption hours to check an animal's availability.  Our email receptionist will not have this information and our front office phone receptionists may not have this information either.  If they do not have this information, you will very likely be put into the adoption supervisor's voice mail.  Her adoption hours will be spent working with clients and your question will be answered by the web site update at the close of the adoption day because each update shows all available animals at the that time.  Note the Last Update time below each web page's menu.

If you do get confirmation that an animal is available during adoption hours while you are contacting the Society from another location, this does not mean the animal will be available when you can get to our facility.  Do not set yourself up for a false sense of security and anticipation.

You may also register via the "My Rescue" link below each animal's picture on its whspets.org page to receive email alerts on your favorite animal or breeds if you are interested in a puppy, young, purebred or small dog.  Then plan on visiting at the start of the following adoption hours.

In summary, either visit at the start of adoption hours following an evening update that continues to show an animal of interest on our whspets.org Animal List or visit later in the adoption day with an open mind that the animal you saw on the site may be in the middle of an adoption and others may be available who are not yet posted.  Kindly note that updates to our web site may take several hours to sync to other sites such as Petfinder and AdoptaPet.
